Automation Team Lead

We’re Hiring: Automation Team Lead – based in Tel Aviv

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the  automation strategy , maintaining scalable  automation frameworks , and ensuring high-quality standards across  mobile  and web applications and  API s. You will  mentor  and support a team of automation engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive technical excellence while actively contributing to the codebase.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QA Automation Engineers.
• Plan, prioritize, and manage the team's workload and delivery.
• Monitor  team KPIs , execution, and quality metrics, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Development, Product, and QA teams to align automation initiatives with business goals.
• Drive onboarding, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the team.
• Support recruitment, interviews, and performance evaluations.

Technical Responsibilities

Define and lead the overall automation strategy for mobile, web applications and APIs.

Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for mobile and web applications.

Design and implement comprehensive API automation test suites.

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure pipeline stability.

Perform root cause analysis and support defect investigation.

Validate data using SQL and MongoDB.

Conduct code reviews and promote automation best practices.

Evaluate and introduce new automation tools, frameworks, and technologies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Automation Development.
• At least 1 year of experience leading or managing a QA Automation team.
• Strong proficiency in Java and TypeScript.
• Extensive hands-on experience with UI automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright and Appium.
• Proven experience designing and implementing API automation frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Strong understanding of

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

Clean coding principles.

Web and mobile application architecture.

HTTP protocol.

JSON structure and request/response handling.

Automation design patterns (e.g., Page Object Model).

Experience with

SQL queries for data validation.

MongoDB and NoSQL databases.

Git version control and branching strategies.

CI/CD pipelines and automation integration.

Education
