Backend Engineer - OT Security Team

Description

Zero Networks aims to protects tens of thousands of OT devices worldwide by managing enterprise switches directly. We're evolving how we integrate with switches - moving toward more modern network management protocols and a wider range of vendors. You'll own that integration layer end-to-end - backend services and the networking know-how behind them.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the software that talks directly to enterprise network switches: real devices, real production networks, real impact.
• Push the boundaries of how we manage devices at scale: new protocols, new vendors, better abstractions.
• Build the cloud backend that turns raw device data into something powerful (Go/C#, gRPC, PostgreSQL).
• Solve hard, unglamorous distributed-systems problems: concurrency, reliability, scale - with code that ships to production and protects real infrastructure

Requirements

• 3-5 years as a backend engineer, proficiency in at least one of Go/C#/Java/C++.
• Networking knowledge: L2/L3, VLANs, routing, TCP/IP, ACLs.
• Hands-on experience automating network devices - SSH/CLI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, SNMP, gNMI, Netmiko/NAPALM, or similar.
• Comfort with concurrent code that has to survive flaky real-world network conditions

Nice to Have

• Multi-vendor network experience (Cisco, Aruba, and others).
• Cloud experience (GCP/AWS/Azure) and microservices/gRPC.
• Experience with flow-based telemetry protocols (IPFIX, NetFlow, sFlow).
