Director of FP&A

We are looking for a Director of FP&A to lead our financial planning and analysis function and report directly to the VP of Finance. In this role, you will own the company's FP&A strategy end-to-end, acting as a key thought partner to executive leadership across budgeting, forecasting, business modeling, and board reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own company-wide and department-level budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly tracking processes.
- Own and maintain the company's financial model to support internal tracking, management reporting, strategic decision-making, fundraising, and M&A processes, including pro forma budgets and deal evaluation.
- Lead preparation and delivery of board materials and investor-facing financial packages, presenting directly to the board and executive leadership.
- Own integration of pipeline data into the financial model, and drive ongoing accuracy, structure, and maintenance of the model.
- Partner with department heads across the business to align budgets, forecasts, and resourcing decisions with strategic priorities.
- Build and lead management reporting, including KPI dashboards, burn rate analysis, and margin tracking, and drive the analysis and insights behind them.
- Build and scale the FP&A function's processes, tools, and (as the team grows) people.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical role, including experience operating at a leadership level.
- Prior experience at growth-stage or scaled companies, owning all aspects of budgeting and planning end-to-end.
- Experience in companies dealing with inventory and manufacturing.
- Strong financial modeling skills with high proficiency in Excel.
- Experience presenting financial analysis and recommendations directly to boards or executive leadership.
- Familiarity with contract-based or multi-program revenue models.
- Ability to work independently and lead multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a structured working approach.
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and comfortable making decisions with limited oversight.
- Experience with ERP and BI systems – an advantage.
- Experience in defense, hardware, or multi-program technology companies – an advantage.
