Senior Embedded Engineer

For a growing startup in the field of real-time vision intelligence systems, developing solutions deployed in critical environments where the technology directly impacts safety and helps protect lives. The company is looking for a senior, hands-on software developer to help build and evolve its core platform. This role is ideal for someone with strong Python skills who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, shipping high-quality features, and improving system reliability and scalability. Part of the role includes working close to the hardware on Linux-based embedded systems (including NVIDIA Jetson), making this a great fit for engineers who enjoy working across the stack and taking ownership in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver end-to-end features across a complex, real-time system
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable software running in production environments
• Work on Linux-based embedded systems, including performance optimization and system-level integration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (algorithms, hardware, product) to deliver high-impact solutions
• Continuously improve system architecture, code quality, and development processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in real-time, resource-constrained environments
• Take ownership of features from design through deployment and monitoring

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with strong hands-on coding skills
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience developing and deploying production-grade systems
• Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Ability to work independently and navigate large, evolving codebases
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic engineering mindset
• Nice to Have / Bonus Skills
• Experience in computer vision (OpenCV, object detection, PyTorch, TensorRT)
• GPU acceleration (CUDA, CuPy, ONNX Runtime)
• Edge/embedded systems experience (NVIDIA Jetson, JetPack, ARM64)
• Camera integration (industrial SDKs, ONVIF, RTSP)
• 3D geometry and calibration
• GUI development (Qt / PySide6)
