Senior Software Engineer (C++ on real-time Linux, Drone Systems)

Position

At Sightec, we develop real-time visual autonomy and navigation systems for UAVs operating in GPS-denied environments. Our software runs on edge processors and is deployed to customers worldwide across Defence and HLS sectors.

We are looking for a strong C++ developer to join our core engineering team and take a key role in building high-performance, production-grade systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop modern C++ software for Linux-based edge systems
• Design and implement components for real-time, performance-critical applications
• Work closely with algorithm developers to integrate computer vision pipelines into production systems
• Optimize system performance (CPU, memory, latency) under constrained hardware
• Debug complex issues across multi-threaded and distributed components
• Support deployment, integration, and field-related issues when needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on C++ development experience
• Strong experience working on Linux-based systems (embedded or edge devices is a plus)
• Solid understanding of multithreading, synchronization, and memory management
• Experience with performance-critical or real-time systems
• Proven ability to debug complex issues in production environments
• Experience building and shipping production-grade software
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset

Experience with NVIDIA Jetson or similar edge platforms

Background in UAV, drone systems, or robotics

Familiarity with computer vision systems

Experience with system-level performance optimization

Exposure to CI/CD workflows

Experience working in small to mid-sized product companies

Familiarity with LLM-assisted development tools (e.g., ClaudeCode, Copilot)
