As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.
We are looking for an talented C++ Software Engineer to join the UniBeam Software team to help us develop critical module that power the next generation of our platform. The role involves designing and implementing performance-critical software and building efficient data flows for real-time image processing. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative and technically challenging environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- As a member of this core team, you will initiate, design, and develop optimized software for our next-generation high-end processing product.
- You will make key technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and efficiency of our applications.
- You will contribute to the development of innovative products and see them launched into production environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, computer science, software engineering, or mathematics
- Proficiency in C++ (11/17) – at least 5y
- Development of HW device dependent SW (i.e. frame grabbers, dedicated boards)
- Performance profiling and optimizations – ms to sub-ms requirement
- Familiar with modern RPC APIs (gRPC)
- Ability to get into large, highly optimized code base
- Advanced memory management
- Windows development
- Implementation and optimizations of image processing algorithms (not defining the algorithms)
- Tech leadership – especially a focal and able to collaborate closely with stakeholders (system, architects and other SW groups)
- Modern CI incl git, unit-testing, linting, static code analysis, automated pipelines
