Senior Physicist

At our Rehovot site, we are looking for a Senior Physicist to join our advanced photonics team and take part in developing next-generation technologies in the fields of Integrated Photonics and Nanophotonics.

You will lead innovative photonic technologies from concept definition and simulation through experimental validation, fabrication coordination, and integration into multidisciplinary systems. Responsibilities

• Lead R&D activities in integrated photonics, silicon photonics, metasurfaces, and nanophotonic technologies
• Design, simulate, characterize, and optimize photonic devices and optical subsystems
• Design, build, and operate advanced optical laboratory setups for device characterization, performance evaluation, and technology validation
• Lead end-to-end technology development from system concept and architecture through implementation, validation, and deployment
• Develop innovative solutions for complex optical and photonic challenges and evaluate alternative technological approaches
• Manage technical interfaces with photonic foundries and fabrication partners including design reviews and post-fabrication analysis
• Analyze experimental and fabrication results and drive iterative design improvements
• Support integration of photonic technologies into advanced laser and electro-optical systems
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including physics, optics, electronics, algorithms, mechanics, and system engineering
• Follow state-of-the-art academic research and initiate collaborations with leading research groups
• Mentor junior physicists and contribute to future photonics technology roadmaps

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Photonics, Electro-Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong background in Integrated Photonics, Silicon Photonics, Nanophotonics, Metasurfaces, or Optical Device Design
• Hands-on experience with photonic simulation tools including Lumerical and COMSOL
• Hands-on experience in experimental photonics and optical characterization
• Experience working with photonic foundries or strong understanding of photonic fabrication processes
• Experience with PIC tapeouts and PDK based design flows - Advantage
• Programming experience in Python or MATLAB - Advantage
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
